Dermal Filler (1ml)

Description

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial features. They improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and provide a youthful, refreshed appearance.

Pre-Procedure Instructions

2 Weeks Before:

• Avoid elective dental procedures, dental cleanings, or oral hygiene appointments to reduce infection risk from bacterial seeding
• Stop blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic, omega-3 fatty acids)
• Treat any active skin infections, acne, or inflammatory conditions in the treatment area

1 Week Before:

• Discontinue aspirin and NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) unless medically required
• Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning to the treatment area
• Notify your provider of any cold sores history (prophylactic antivirals may be prescribed)

24–48 Hours Before:

• Avoid alcohol, which increases bruising risk
• Avoid waxing, bleaching, or hair removal in the treatment area
• Stay well-hydrated

Day of Procedure:

• Arrive with clean skin, free of lotions, makeup, or self-tanner
• Inform your provider of any new medications, illnesses, or skin changes

Post-Procedure Instructions

Immediately After:

• Apply cold compresses or ice packs (wrapped in cloth) for 10–15 minutes per hour to minimize swelling and bruising
• Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for 24 hours unless instructed otherwise

First 24–48 Hours:

• Avoid strenuous exercise, which can increase blood pressure and worsen swelling
• Avoid extreme heat (saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms)
• Stay out of direct sunlight to prevent hyperpigmentation
• Sleep with your head elevated to reduce swelling

First 1–2 Weeks:

• Expect mild swelling, redness, and possible bruising lasting 7–14 days
• Avoid dental procedures for 2–4 weeks post-treatment
• Avoid excessive facial movements if treated in facial areas
• Topical arnica, vitamin K cream, or bromelain supplements may help resolve bruising faster

Contact Your Provider Immediately If:

• Severe pain, increasing swelling, or skin color changes (blanching, bluish discoloration)
• Signs of infection (fever, increasing redness, warmth, pus)
• Vision changes or unusual symptoms (rare but serious vascular complications)
